  • Your beloved father was simply great and profound and words are not adequate to describe his multi-dimensional qualities - suffice to say he died on a such a great day that only Bibi Fatema (SA) can provide the ajar to her own zakir - not only an ordinary zakir, but a passionate lover of the Ahlul Bayt.

He is one and unique that not only was a professional, a zakir, an author, a passionate volunteer but he was also a philanthropist and this is a rare combination; unique that I have never seen in any of our zakireen todate. Besides he was so humble.

  • A small poem on Marhum Murtaza Lakha

It's been a week since you left us
But our hearts still stay in your remembrance

You were a role model to one and all
But you have now responded to the Almighty's call

You inspired everyone who came your way
‪With all that you did and say

  • "Kindly accept our condolences on the untimely passing away of our teacher and guide Muallim Murtaza Lakha.

Muallim was a remarkable man with many positive attributes, he was very knowledgeable, intelligent and articulate; a man who was zakir-e-hussein and continously sought to guide and advise all those who would hear him. He was always approachable and made time for people, he treated all those whom he met with utmost courtesy and respect, regardless of their ages or background. He gravitated people around him not only through his knowledge and intellect but also his humility and the manner in which he conducted himself....

  • He was a fervent lover of the Alhlulbayt and a great scholar and Zaakir, Mashallah.

It was only befitting that he should share the same date of departure from this world as our Lady Of Light, Bibi Fatema Zahra A.S. Very few get 'hand picked' as he did, Subhanallah.

Personally, I will miss him as a father figure because he was my role model.  I will miss him as a scholar and Zaakir because he instilled the love of the Alhulbayt in me. And I will miss him as a fellow human because of his modesty.  I will miss him for a lot of his qualities.

  • He was a Zakir e Hussein A.S. I always recall his lectures and the way he spoke to us with great respect whenever we invited him to Birmingham for reciting Majalis.

My family and I always looked forward to seeing him when he came to Birmingham. We surely will miss him.

  • "Marhum was an inspiration to our Khoja Community. Despite facing a busy schedule, Marhum would never miss an opportunity to humbly serve niyaz and Sabil -e- Husayn to the community members. At our young age, we would look up at him and admire his charming personality.

As we look back on time, Our Neighborhood was blessed with your family and Murtaza Uncle would always treat us with lots of kindness."

  • Your bereavement is shared worldwide with all, as he managed to touch the life of many in the Shia community, and outside too.

I started listening to his India majlises way back in 1998 while I was attending medical university, and the lectures would be boradcast before sunset on my side. He was a teacher to all of us, and had so much left to contribute and enrich.

I fondly recall the lectures and many private conversations I had with him as teenager in Dar. I am indebted to him in many ways for helping me shape and develop my understanding of Islam and other essential concepts of shia thought.

I think the most eligible for condolence is the Imam of the Time (AS) as we have lost a soldier and defender of Islam. The gap he leaves in regard to his service to Islam in enormous. "

  • "My association with Murtazabhai goes back to 1984 when we first met in Daressalaam. Ever since then he has been like an elder brother and mentor to me.

After he moved to London, we continued to maintain close contact with each other. I could call upon him at any time of the day for any advise or guidance and he would always be there for me."

  • His eloquence in speech and writing, his elegance in akhlaq and behavior and his love for all things good especially The Noble Messenger [s] and his Pure and Immaculate Progeny [a] are lessons for us and a testament to him as the person that touched so many. Every encounter with him we never left empty handed, rather we left with inspiration.

The dhikr of the Ahlul Bayt [a] he did, while a staunch and devoted lover of them was his essence.
